The first thing that is done is a thorough investigation to find out the main problem in the patient and then the specialist uses the arthroscopy to see through the femoral artery, vein and capillaries. After which the specialist inserts tiny needle into the vessels to know more about them. This helps to know about the valves and the blood flow and to know the position of the veins and arteries. The specialist will also take X-ray films to know about the anatomy of the body parts affected.

Once the investigations are done by the vascular specialist, he carries out the actual surgery. Before proceeding to the actual surgery the surgeon studies the medical history of the patients, takes the vital signs of the patients and discusses the possible procedures with the patient. He also checks the possibility of adverse effects of the proposed surgical procedure and carries out a brief written report to the surgeon outlining the risks, side effects, complications and post-operative care requirements of the particular case before proceeding any further.
